Dashboard and Navigation

The Testifly app has a side menu on the left and a work area on the right. The first page you see in a project is the Dashboard. It shows how many features and tests you have, how many tests passed or failed, and which tests need your attention right now.

What is in the side menu?

Menu itemWhat you do there
Ask TessaChat with Tessa, the AI assistant. See Tessa AI Assistant.
DashboardSee the health of your project at a glance.
FeaturesBrowse, add and manage features and their tests. See Features.
RunsSee the history and results of every run. See Runs and Results.
Test SuitesGroup tests, run them together and schedule them. See Test Suites and Scheduling.
JobsFollow the background work Testifly does for you. See Background Jobs.
SettingsConfigure the project. See Project Settings.
HelpStart a guided tour of the page you are on. It appears only on pages that have a tour.

At the bottom of the menu you find your name, a link to Feedbacks and feature requests, the legal links and a link to this documentation.

How do I switch projects or add a new one?

Click the project name at the top of the side menu. A list of your projects opens. Click a project to switch to it, or click Add Project to start the setup for a new one. See Getting Started.

How do I open my account settings or log out?

Click the three dots next to your name at the bottom of the side menu:

  • My account opens your profile, where you set your email notification preferences. See Notifications and Emails.
  • Logout signs you out.

What does the dashboard show?

The dashboard has two halves.

Overview (left side)

  • Features Under Test – the number of features in the project.
  • Tests – the number of tests across all features.
  • Test Statuses – bars that count your tests by status. The Runs group shows tests that have code: Test Run Passed, Ready To Run, Test Run Failed, Running and Awaiting Your Input. The Automation group shows tests without working code: Automation Failed, Product Bug Detected, Not Applicable, Over plan limit, Draft and Automating. Click a bar to see the tests behind the number.
  • Test Suites – a short summary of each suite.

All status names are explained in How Testifly Works.

Insights (right side)

The Insights panel lists the tests you should look at first:

  • Awaiting Your Input – runs that failed and need your answer.
  • Newly failed tests – tests that passed before and now fail.
  • Newly detected bugs – tests where Testifly found a likely bug in your app.

Click a test to open it, or click SHOW ALL to see the full list.

What do the banners at the top of the page mean?

Testifly sometimes shows a message across the top of every page in the project. Only one message shows at a time.

BannerWhat it meansWhat to do

What does a new or empty project look like?

  • Right after setup, the dashboard shows Agents at Work! and a live progress list while Testifly discovers and automates your app.
  • If setup is not finished – for example, your app uses email magic links or sits behind a VPN – the dashboard shows Let’s finish setting up your project with a link to the settings page.
  • If there are no features yet, the dashboard shows Add Feature Manually and Start Feature Discovery.

How do the guided tours work?

Click Help in the side menu. A tour highlights the main parts of the current page one by one and explains what each part does. Tours exist for the dashboard, features, test, run, test suite, jobs, settings and Tessa pages.
